To The Pamirs and BEYOND! Day Chor (4): Jizeu-Khorog
I was up before 6 and out the door take photos of the Lake. Then around 7:30 I was back at the homestay having breakfast and by 8 I was back headed out of Jizeu.
As I rounded the last corner before the bridge back across the Bartang River, there was Horsand walking up the trail to meet me. And before noon I was back in Khorog. After getting back to Khorog we drove up to Khorog’s botanical garden where you have pretty nice views over the city, however the plant life is a bit unimpressive. Horsand said that it is because of a lack of water up there. Of course the president’s palace at the botanical gardens has an abundance of flowers and is all green and lush. You know, politicians at their finest.
After the botanical gardens Horsand dropped me off at Hotel LAL again. We agreed to leave around 8am the next morning and that the price of the trip would come in at $0.70 per kilometer, which was better than the $0.80-0.90 per km I had read was average for a Landcruiser.
