Registering with OVIR in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (January 2026 Update)
If entering Tajikistan visa-free (up to 30 days for many nationalities) or with visa-on-arrival and staying more than 10 working days (roughly 14 calendar days), register with OVIR (Department of Visas and Registration). E-visa holders skip OVIR entirely.
No major changes occurred in 2025/2026—process remains straightforward but varies by officer. Hotels no longer register for you; do it yourself or pay ~$25 USD via accommodation/agent.
